PADEL AT POLO CLUB

About Padel

WHAT IS PADEL?

Padel is a sport which combines action with a fun and social environment. It’s a great sport for players of all ages and skills, as it is both quick and easy to pick up. Most players get the basics within the first half hour of playing so that they can enjoy the game in no time.

Padel is a mix between Tennis and Squash. It’s usually played in doubles on an enclosed court roughly 25% smaller than a regular tennis court. Surrounded by walls of glass and metallic mesh, the ball can bounce off any wall but can only hit the turf once before being returned. Points can be scored when the ball does bounce twice in the competitors’ field.

Padel is not as dominated by strength, technique and serve as is customary in tennis and therefore is an ideal game for men, women and youth to compete together. An important skill is match-craft, as points are won rather by strategy than by sheer strength and power.

PADEL PROGRAMMING

Padel Programming

Open Play Beginner | Members: Complimentary, Non-Members: $25

Players who have just started playing padel and are in the learning stage. In their game, these players will just begin to learn how to utilize walls and will learn to distinguish between the attack and defense phase. These players will learn how to overcome a fear of avoiding going to the net and start to feel safe in more areas than only at the baseline. Players will also practice how to make less unforced errors especially in the return of the rival serve.

Open Play Intermediate | Members: Complimentary, Non-Members: $25

Players with more padel coordinated movements, where the use of walls begins to be an important part of their game. Greater comfort at the net area when playing at a slow to mid pace, but struggles to play at high pace. This players style of play is beginning to take shape, but still have ability to improve in execution, tactical positioning, and ball reading.

Open Play Intermediate Plus | Members: Complimentary, Non-Members: $25

These players have a good domain of the fundamentals of padel and use the walls regularly. They distinguish the attack and defense phase well, although will still occasionally make mistakes in their choices. They correctly identify in most cases when to be aggressive. Correct reading of the ball, without taking the greatest possible advantage. The level of unforced errors is greatly reduced. But there is still room for improvement and leveling up skill.
